Frequently Asked Questions
How long does therapy take?
The duration of therapy is very personal to each client depending on the areas in which you want to focus. As a therapist my goal is to have an open and collaborative relationship so that we can ensure that we are working towards the same goals.
Do you accept insurance?
I currently do not accept insurance however I am able to provide a Superbill that you can submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement.
Hey there! As of January 1, 2022, state licensed providers (like myself) are
required to give a “Good Faith Estimate”. You have the right to receive a “Good
Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical and mental health care will
cost.
Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have
insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for
medical services, including psychotherapy services.
For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.
Are you offering online or in-person therapy?
I am available for both in-person and online sessions. In-person sessions will continue subject to state and local guidelines and prevailing best medical practices.
What is your cancellation policy?
You may cancel or reschedule a session within 24 hours without paying the full session fee.
How do I get started?
Contact me via the contact page, send me an email at melissa@melissahurtadotherapy.com or give me a call at 714-209-6689. I look forward to connecting with you.
Will the things I say in therapy be kept private?
Yes, therapists take your privacy seriously and are ethically bound by confidentiality, in addition to laws in place to protect your privacy. There are several legal exceptions which all therapists are subject to which I am happy to discuss with you in our first session.
